Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 Update Reveals Valhalla New Game+, Hexe News, and 20th Anniversary Plans

Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 Update Reveals Valhalla New Game+, Hexe News, and 20th Anniversary Plans

Ubisoft has shared a major Fall 2026 Assassin’s Creed update, offering new details on the future of the franchise, current games, projects in development, and plans for the series’ upcoming 20th anniversary.

The update was presented by Jean Guesdon, Head of Content for Assassin’s Creed, and follows Ubisoft’s March 2026 brand update.

Among the biggest announcements are New Game+ for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the final major update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, development updates for Codename Invictus and Codename Hexe, confirmation that no other Assassin’s Creed remake is currently in active development, and early plans for the franchise’s 20th anniversary in 2027.

Ubisoft Is Building a More Cohesive Future for Assassin’s Creed

Earlier this year, Ubisoft introduced a new Assassin’s Creed Leadership Team made up of longtime franchise veterans.

Led by Martin Schelling, the group has spent the past several months refining the long-term vision for Assassin’s Creed and identifying the priorities that will shape the franchise going forward.

Ubisoft says the team is focused on four main principles: preserving what makes Assassin’s Creed unique, continuing to innovate, delivering different types of experiences, and improving quality and consistency across future games.

The company is also trying to work more closely with the community.

A survey conducted earlier this year highlighted three major concerns from players: preserving Assassin’s Creed’s identity, creating a more coherent narrative that respects the franchise’s lore, and maintaining more regular communication between Ubisoft and the community.

Ubisoft says closed-door workshops with community members and content creators are also planned as part of that effort.

Black Flag Resynced Gets Its Final Major Update

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched on July 9, 2026, bringing Edward Kenway’s adventure back with a rebuilt version of the game.

Ubisoft Singapore has continued supporting the remake since launch, but its latest update will be the final major content release currently planned.

The update adds:

  • New Game+
  • Nightmare Mode
  • New rewards
  • New finishers
  • Trinkets
  • Additional customization
  • Blackbeard’s outfit
  • Edward’s London attire
  • New Jackdaw and crew customization

Ubisoft says quality-of-life updates will continue over the coming months, but no additional major content is currently planned.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Is Finally Getting New Game+

After years of requests, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is finally getting New Game+.

The feature launches on November 5, 2026, following the game surpassing 40 million players.

Players will be able to restart Eivor’s journey while carrying over much of their previous progression, with dedicated New Game+ scaling to keep the experience challenging.

The update also adds several new progression features.

Gear, Runes, and Masteries can contribute to Eivor’s overall Power through an optional progression mode. Players will also find new runes, achievements, a stash system, and additional rewards.

One of the new rewards is a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The update also introduces Mithril, a new resource used to upgrade Divine Gear and strengthen runes, while Divine Gear quality will become available across all items.

Ubisoft says more information, including current-generation console updates, will be shared through upcoming patch notes.

Codename Invictus Is Changing Based on Player Feedback

Ubisoft also provided an update on Codename Invictus, its upcoming Assassin’s Creed multiplayer project.

Hundreds of players participated in a private Insiders Session earlier this year, testing an early prototype and providing feedback directly to the development team.

According to Ubisoft, players responded positively to the return of PvP multiplayer, particularly the game’s parkour, vertical map design, team-based gameplay, and ability to play as different Assassin’s Creed characters with unique abilities.

However, testers also felt the project needed more of the core pillars traditionally associated with Assassin’s Creed.

The development team has since adjusted the direction of Invictus to better reflect those elements while maintaining its multiplayer focus.

Ubisoft stresses that the game is still in development and that information circulating online may be incomplete or outdated.

Codename Hexe Is Still in Development

Ubisoft also briefly addressed Codename Hexe, describing it as a darker Assassin’s Creed experience.

The project continues to make steady progress, although Ubisoft acknowledges there is still significant development work ahead.

The company says the team remains committed to the project’s unique vision and plans to share the next major Codename Hexe update in 2027.

For now, Ubisoft is keeping the project largely hidden, leaving fans to continue speculating about its story and setting.

No Other Assassin’s Creed Remakes Are Currently in Development

Following the release of Black Flag Resynced, one of the biggest questions has been whether Ubisoft plans to remake additional Assassin’s Creed games.

For now, the answer is no.

Ubisoft confirmed that there are currently no other Assassin’s Creed remakes actively in development.

The company says its teams are instead focused on the next generation of Assassin’s Creed titles, including projects that have not yet been announced and will feature new settings and stories.

However, Ubisoft is not ruling out future remakes.

The company says it remains interested in finding opportunities to revisit older Assassin’s Creed games at some point.

Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed Series Is Nearing the End of Production

Ubisoft also shared an update on the upcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed series for Netflix.

Production is nearing completion in Rome, Italy, where Jean Guesdon recently visited the set, consulted on scripts, and met with the showrunners.

Award-winning composer Hannah Peel has also joined the production and will create the series’ score.

A release date has not yet been announced.

Ubisoft teased that the series will eventually take viewers into the Roman Empire, but more substantial details are being kept secret for now.

Assassin’s Creed Turns 20 in 2027

One of the biggest moments ahead for the franchise is its 20th anniversary in 2027.

Ubisoft says it is preparing an entire year of celebrations built around reveals, updates, rewards, and community-focused moments.

While the specifics remain under wraps, Ubisoft says the anniversary will place a strong emphasis on the players who have supported Assassin’s Creed over the past two decades.

A special logo celebrating 20 years of Assassin’s Creed was also revealed as part of the update.

Ubisoft Wants More Communication With Assassin’s Creed Fans

One consistent theme throughout the Fall 2026 update is Ubisoft’s desire to rebuild stronger communication with the Assassin’s Creed community.

The company acknowledges that it cannot always reveal every detail or answer every question, but says it intends to remain more transparent where possible and continue collecting player feedback as future games take shape.

That communication could prove especially important as the franchise moves toward projects with very different styles, including a multiplayer title, the darker Codename Hexe, new original settings, and potential future revisits of older games.

Final Thoughts

The Fall 2026 Assassin’s Creed update gives us a much clearer idea of where Ubisoft wants to take the franchise.

In the short term, there is plenty happening. Valhalla is finally getting New Game+, Black Flag Resynced is receiving its final major update, and Invictus is being reshaped based on early player feedback.

Further out, Codename Hexe remains one of the franchise’s biggest mysteries, new Assassin’s Creed projects are already being developed, and the Netflix series is moving closer to completion.

Most importantly, Ubisoft appears to recognize that Assassin’s Creed needs stronger consistency across its games and storytelling.

With the franchise turning 20 in 2027, the next year could become one of the most significant periods in Assassin’s Creed history.
