Relic Entertainment has announced **Company of Heroes 3: Operation Torch**, a new narrative-driven campaign DLC launching on **November 25, 2026** for PC.

Operation Torch marks the first new single-player mission content released for Company of Heroes 3 since launch and takes players back to North Africa, this time from the perspective of American forces entering their first major campaign against German troops.

The DLC features **15 missions**, a new progression system, army customization, and a story inspired by the Allied campaign in Axis-occupied North Africa.

## A New American Campaign in North Africa

Operation Torch follows an inexperienced American force as it enters one of its first major battles of World War II.

The campaign begins with the Allied landings in North Africa before following the army through victories, setbacks, and lessons that gradually transform it into a more experienced fighting force.

Relic is drawing inspiration from real historical events while adapting them into focused tactical missions.

The campaign stretches from the opening invasion through the defeat at **Kasserine** before culminating in the assault on **Hill 609**.

Rather than simply recreating historical battles, the campaign is designed around Company of Heroes' familiar focus on battlefield decision-making, positioning, unit management, and adapting to changing combat situations.

## Three Soldiers Frame the Story

Operation Torch tells its story through the perspectives of **three American soldiers**.

Their experiences are intended to show the conflict from both command and battlefield viewpoints, giving players a closer look at the hardships and responsibilities faced by soldiers throughout the campaign.

As the story progresses, their perspectives change alongside the army itself, reflecting the losses and lessons that helped turn inexperienced troops into a more capable fighting force.

It gives Operation Torch a more personal narrative structure while still keeping large-scale tactical combat at the centre of the experience.

## 15 Missions With Different Tactical Challenges

The campaign includes **15 missions**, each designed around different units, abilities, and battlefield situations.

Players will encounter scenarios ranging from beachfront landings and stealth operations to defensive battles and large-scale assaults.

Instead of relying on one type of encounter throughout the campaign, Relic is using the mission structure to regularly change what is expected from the player.

That means learning how to use different parts of the American arsenal effectively while adapting strategies depending on the objectives and terrain.

## Build and Upgrade Your Army

Operation Torch also introduces progression between missions.

Completing missions and optional objectives earns upgrades that allow players to shape how their army develops over the course of the campaign.

Army customization is designed around player choice, allowing different upgrades and combat approaches depending on preferred playstyle.

That progression should give the 15-mission campaign more continuity, with decisions made earlier potentially shaping the tools players have available later.

## A Return to Single-Player Mission Content

Operation Torch is notable because it represents the first new dedicated single-player mission content added to Company of Heroes 3 since the game originally launched.

Company of Heroes 3 debuted with both the larger Dynamic Italian Campaign and a more traditional North African Operation. Relic described the latter as a focused, linear campaign built around classic Company of Heroes tactical gameplay.

Operation Torch appears to follow that more traditional structure, focusing on handcrafted missions rather than a large strategic campaign map.

For longtime Company of Heroes players who prefer carefully designed single-player scenarios, that makes this DLC particularly interesting.

## Company of Heroes Celebrates 20 Years

Operation Torch also arrives during the **20th anniversary of Company of Heroes**.

The original Company of Heroes launched in 2006 and helped establish Relic as one of the most recognized studios in the real-time strategy genre. Relic says the franchise has sold more than **10 million copies worldwide** across its various releases.

The anniversary year has already included the **Company of Heroes 3.0 Anniversary Update**, while **Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition** is also part of Relic's wider celebration of the series.

Operation Torch continues that support by returning to one of the franchise's strongest traditions: narrative-driven single-player warfare.

## What Operation Torch Includes

Company of Heroes 3: Operation Torch will feature:

- A new 15-mission narrative campaign
- An American perspective on the North African campaign
- Missions inspired by historical battles and events
- Battles spanning the Allied landings, Kasserine, and Hill 609
- Three American soldiers framing the narrative
- Beach landings, stealth missions, defensive scenarios, and major assaults
- Campaign progression through missions and optional objectives
- Army upgrades and customization
- Multiple tactical tools, units, and abilities

The campaign is designed to gradually test more of the player's tactical knowledge as the American force itself gains experience.

## Final Thoughts

Operation Torch looks like a welcome return to focused single-player storytelling for Company of Heroes 3.

The 15-mission structure gives Relic room to create distinct scenarios without stretching the experience across a larger strategic map, while the progression system should give players more ownership over how their army develops.

The North African setting is already familiar territory for Company of Heroes 3, but shifting the perspective to an inexperienced American force gives Relic a different story to tell.

With Company of Heroes celebrating its 20th anniversary, returning to handcrafted campaign missions feels like a fitting way to honour the series' roots.
