Dead by Daylight: Steady Pulse Update Adds New Survivor Orela Rose, Charitable Campaign, and Major Archives Overhaul

Dead by Daylight: Steady Pulse is live, and it’s more than just another update. Developer Behaviour Interactive has rolled out a substantial spring release that brings with it a new Survivor, meaningful community engagement, and a refreshing rework of The Archives. Available now across all supported platforms, Steady Pulse marks a major seasonal refresh for the game—and a turning point for Dead by Daylight’s Survivor roster.
At the center of the update is Orela Rose, an EMT-turned-Survivor driven by compassion and purpose. As the first responder to enter The Fog, Orela brings a calm, determined presence and three unique perks to strengthen team-based play.

Meet Orela Rose: The Selfless Survivor
Orela Rose is one of the most altruistic additions to Dead by Daylight yet. Her character is rooted in resilience and empathy—qualities honed in real-world emergencies. After a personal tragedy led her to abandon university, Orela pursued a career as an EMT. Her focus? Making sure others get a second chance that her best friend never had.
In the twisted world of The Entity, that same conviction becomes her greatest asset.
Orela’s Unique Perks:
- Do No Harm – Heal other Survivors faster and with greater Skill Check success based on how many times they’ve been hooked.
- Duty of Care – While healthy, taking a Protection Hit gives nearby teammates a short burst of speed.
- Rapid Response – Rush-exit a locker to reveal the Killer’s Aura and become briefly Exhausted, allowing for surprise plays or escapes.
Her loadout is tailored for high-pressure clutch plays and cooperative strategy, reinforcing her identity as a protector in the darkest moments.
For a Good Cause: Paramedic Skins to Support Pediatric Healthcare
Orela’s launch is accompanied by a real-world charitable partnership between Dead by Daylight and CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, a Montreal-based pediatric hospital and philanthropic organization.
From May 6 to May 27, 2025, 100% of proceeds from the two Orela Paramedic skins will be donated to support hospitalized children and youth. This marks a significant move by Behaviour Interactive to turn in-game purchases into a tangible impact.
An upcoming community event will further raise awareness and encourage participation, with more details to be revealed in the coming weeks. Players can also donate directly via the foundation’s website.

The Rift Reimagined: Archives Become Streamlined
In one of the most welcome changes for regular players, The Archives have been reworked and renamed The Rift, beginning with the launch of the OVERGROWTH entry. For the first time, all Challenges—now called Quests—can be active simultaneously, removing the tedium of toggling and significantly improving the grind.
OVERGROWTH also introduces the Dark Overgrowth Collection, a line of spring-flavoured outfits for:
- Haddie Kaur
- The Dredge
- The Nurse
- Feng Min
- Adam Francis
- Orela Rose
These floral, eerie, and otherworldly designs push the game’s visual variety forward in compelling ways.

A Month of Must-See Cosmetics
Dead by Daylight’s Steady Pulse update doesn’t stop at gameplay and philanthropy. Players can also expect a full wardrobe refresh across May with several new outfit collections.
May 6 – Steady Pulse Collection:
Features two Orela Rose skins, including the Day Shift Outfit and Halcyon Dreams Outfit, both evoking her EMT roots and personal history.
May 13 – Guardians & Shadows Collection:
Returns with the Nevermore Outfit for The Ghost Face, the Rodent King Outfit for The Legion, and new cosmetics for Yun-Jin and Gabriel.
May 20 – Chrysalis Collection:
Delivers grotesque insect-inspired looks for The Xenomorph and The Executioner, offering some of the most disturbing cosmetic additions yet.
May 27 – Cats & Dogs Collection:
Highlights include a Jonesy-themed top for Ellen Ripley, plus new styles for Nicolas Cage and The Unknown, adding a lighthearted twist to Dead by Daylight’s cast.

Final Thoughts: A Spring Update That Hits Every Note
From character-driven storytelling to generous community partnerships and long-requested gameplay improvements, Dead by Daylight: Steady Pulse delivers one of the most well-rounded seasonal updates in recent memory.
Orela Rose is a standout new addition for players who prefer support-focused tactics, while the charitable partnership offers a meaningful way for fans to give back. The newly reworked Rift makes progress feel smoother, and the steady rollout of cosmetics ensures there’s always something new to chase.
