Echoes of Mystralia: Roguelite Spellcraft Demo Live Now
Echoes of Mystralia brings a fresh roguelite twist to the spellcrafting magic of Mages of Mystralia, with a playable demo now live on Steam ahead of its full PC release later this year.

Developed by Montreal's Borealys Games, Echoes of Mystralia is set in the same universe as its predecessor, Mages of Mystralia. You play as Mazarim, a guardian protecting the World’s Memory from a Rift spawning hostile echoes of the past. This setup justifies roguelite runs where you harvest enemy-dropped memories to craft and combo spells—like lightning bolts or freezing tornadoes—creating highly customizable builds.

Runs emphasize fast-paced, risk-reward combat against Rift-spawned foes and massive Guardians like Therakan, testing reflexes and tactics. Between attempts, return to the Azimuth Temple hub to upgrade skills, tweak loadouts, and chat with watchers, including an ancient goddess guide. The demo spotlights The Ash Forest biome, offering 4 spells, 4 challenges, 50 memories for experimentation, and a boss fight to showcase the depth.
Borealys is embracing player input via their Discord for balancing this replayability-focused design. Wishlist on Steam now, follow on X, Instagram, and Facebook, and check out the new Gameplay Trailer on YouTube. If the demo's modular spell system delivers millions of builds as promised, it could be a standout in action-roguelites.
