Fae Farm: My Experience Playing The Cozy Gaming Haven and Phoenix Labs' Latest Triumph

Phoenix Labs celebrated the recent launch of their second game, Fae Farm. Known for their hit title, Dauntless, which amassed 30 million players on various platforms, the studio now offers Fae Farm on Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Fae Farm is a delightful tribute to cozy farm sim games, set in the enchanting realm of Azoria. Players can fulfill their fairytale dreams by tending crops, capturing creatures, raising animals, and crafting unique items to personalize their homes and characters. Azoria exudes warmth with its charming characters, picturesque environments, and adorable creatures. Players can even form connections and pursue romance and marriage, always a plus for cozy gamers worldwide.

You can play Fae Farm solo or with up to four players in online multiplayer, and a perk is that the game features cross-play support for its multiple platforms, with Nintendo Switch engaging in local multiplayer using the ad-hoc wireless feature.

My weekend was spent diving into Fae Farm and the game left me genuinely excited about its future. While some UI improvements for mouse and keyboard would be nice, like being able to exit menus with the escape key, the story, vibe, and characters 100% met my expectations... And my expectations were HIGH for this launch. If you're a fan of titles like Disney's Dreamlight Valley and Animal Crossing, Fae Farm will undoubtedly give you the experience you are looking for.

The game immerses players in a cozy atmosphere, complete with enchanting music and Azoria's irresistible charm. Fae Farm also introduces beginner-friendly dungeon mechanics...even for those averse to combat in these types of games, and includes endearing foes that elicit "awws" as you wallop them with your magical staff.

Based on my current gaming experience, I would recommend opting for the Nintendo Switch version or utilizing a controller on PC, as it enhances the overall gameplay smoothness.

On PC players can purchase Fae Farm's Standard Edition for $49.99 CAD, including the base game, or the Deluxe Edition for $79.99 CAD, which includes the first two post-launch content packs and the original soundtrack. Nintendo Switch players will receive the first two post-launch content packs included in their game at $79.99 CAD.

With a current rating of 9/10 on Steam, Fae Farm simply delivers. In essence, the game caters to fans of farm simulations, engaging narratives, and endearing romancible characters. Despite minor quality-of-life issues, the game's enchanting ambiance, newbie-friendly combat, and captivating world of Azoria make it a must-play adventure for any cozy gamer.
