First Look at the DualSense Icon Blue Special Edition and New PlayStation Heritage Collection Launching This October

PlayStation is bringing a bold new look to the DualSense lineup this October with the Icon Blue Special Edition. The controller features layered shades of vibrant and deep blue, paired with a glossy PlayStation shapes pattern across the touch pad. It’s a visually striking design that pays tribute to PlayStation’s heritage, including Katakana characters on the back that spell “Pureisutēshon,” the Japanese name for PlayStation.

Leo Cardoso from the Color, Material and Finish team says the design draws from that signature console boot-up moment when the DualSense lights up blue. This glow is meant to capture the feeling of anticipation and wonder before diving into a new game session, and the Icon Blue edition embodies that excitement perfectly.
The controller will be available October 20 in the U.S. and Canada, and October 28 in Mexico and Chile. Pricing is set at $84.99 USD, $109.99 CAD, $1,899 MXN, or $93,490 CLP. It will be sold exclusively at Walmart stores and on Walmart’s official site.

Fans in the U.S. can also look forward to new PlayStation heritage products launching alongside the controller, including:
Astro Bot Lunch Box with a lenticular face that changes expressions

Twisted Metal Meltz Figures inspired by the series’ chaotic characters and vehicles

PlayStation Jersey that blends modern athletic style with iconic branding

Monogram Backpack Clips featuring detailed PlayStation character designs

The Last of Us Ellie Mini Backpack modeled after Ellie’s in-game gear as a stylish everyday accessory

For players who appreciate gear that blends function with a sense of history, the Icon Blue Special Edition is more than just a new color. It’s a reminder of the adventures waiting each time you pick up the controller. Want to learn more? Read the full PlayStation blog here.
