Just Dance 2026 Edition Review

Just Dance 2026 Edition is here and brings all the dancing vibe we expect from the franchise. It is improving on what worked previously without trying to really reinvent the wheel, and that is just fine by me. As always Ubisoft keeps the game welcoming with bright energetic visuals and well-known songs. This makes it quite easy for anyone to jump in and enjoy regardless of their dance experience.

Like I do for all Just Dance sessions, I played it with my family and friends, ranging from ages 13 to 65, and we all had a great time. I was personally super excited to groove to "Abracadabra" by Lady Gaga, and as expected it was a track that got everyone moving. As a music lover, I have always appreciated how this franchise mixes older music with the latest hits. It gives younger players a chance to discover earlier music across multiple genres, similar to what games like Rock Band did for rock fans now (aka me) in their late 20s and 30s.

The game includes over 40 new songs across genres like pop, hip-hop, and electronic music, featuring artists such as Dua Lipa, Doechii, and Sabrina Carpenter. There is also the new Camera Controller feature on your phone that allows you to dance using your whole body.

On the accessibility front, you get adjustable difficulty levels for songs and Party Mode, easy access to tutorials, and vibration feedback for supported controllers. It doesn’t offer more advanced options like colourblind modes, subtitles, or full control customization, but it does include helpful visual cues during gameplay and supports some adaptive peripherals. You can read about the full list of accessibility features in the fame on Ubisoft's article here.

One of the peaks for the 2026 Edition is the new Just Dance Co-op Party Mode. You join Dr. Gigavolt's Lab to face a series of wacky experiments that challenge your rhythm and reflexes with visual or action disruptors during shorter songs. This mode can be played solo or with up to six players locally. It’s designed to be accessible for all skill levels with difficulty settings and flexible session lengths. Plus, Party Mode works with songs from Just Dance 2023 through 2026, including Music Packs and Just Dance+, making it perfect for group play and parties.

I played the game on my Nintendo Switch 2. As usual, the user interface is clean colourful, and easy to navigate. This allows players to quickly find their favorite tracks or explore modes. Online play feels improved, although some latency issues still occurred once or twice. One downside is that many of my personal favorite songs are locked behind the Just Dance+ subscription. I’m not a huge fan of this, but if you are someone who plays often or brings the game to parties and friends’ houses, the subscription could definitely be worth it for the extra content. It does indeed add a LOT more content to the game.

Visually, the game is bright, colourful, and responsive. It runs pretty smoothly on the Nintendo Switch 2. This edition also includes the newer Workout mode introduced in the 2025 version. It's perfect for solo workouts or lively group sessions where you want to track your calories while still bringing the party atmosphere right into your living room.

Overall I would say that Just Dance 2026 Edition is a solid addition to the Just Dance lineup. It stays true to the game franchises' roots while introducing fresh new tracks and game modes that keep the fun going. If you are a known Just Dance lover, it's an easy add to your collection. If you just want a game that gets you dancing, introduces you to new genres, and offers welcoming gameplay for all skill levels, definitely try it out.
