MAR10 Day Celebrations: Exciting Mario Announcements from Nintendo

March 10th, or MAR10 Day, is a special day for Mario fans around the world, and this year, Nintendo has treated fans to a host of exciting announcements and releases. In a surprise video, Nintendo revealed release dates for highly anticipated Mario titles, classic Game Boy games coming to Nintendo Switch Online, and even news about a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros.

One of the most significant announcements is the release date for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door on the Nintendo Switch. This beloved RPG will be available on May 23, featuring enhanced graphics and new gameplay features. Fans can pre-order the game now.

Another exciting release is "Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD," which will be available on the Nintendo Switch on June 27. This visually enhanced version of the game, initially released for the Nintendo 3DS as "Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon," sees Luigi using the Poltergust 5000 to capture ghosts across haunted mansions.

In addition to these new releases, three classic Game Boy games featuring Mario are coming to Nintendo Switch Online on March 12. "Dr. Mario," "Mario Golf," and "Mario Tennis" will all be available to play as part of the Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online library.

LEGO Super Mario fans also have something to look forward to, as LEGO unveiled a teaser for Mario Kart's arrival in the LEGO Super Mario universe.

To celebrate MAR10 Day, Nintendo is offering a 14-day Free Trial Membership for Nintendo Switch Online, which gives players access to classic NES, Super NES, and Game Boy games. Additionally, there are special offers on digital versions of various Mario games on and in the Nintendo eShop.

Finally, in a surprise announcement, Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Nintendo is working with Illumination on a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros. The film will be released on April 3, 2026, in the US and many other markets globally.
