Megaglope Studios Is Dragging Deckbuilding into the Depths with Into the Crypt
Solo dev Megaglope Studios is doing something wild with Into the Crypt, a 3D, first-person roguelike deckbuilder that pulls the genre out of the tavern and drops it straight into a procedurally generated dungeon full of enemies that definitely don’t want you there. The Closed Alpha just kicked off, and the concept already feels like a blend of Slay the Spire’s strategic layering with the claustrophobic tension of a dungeon crawler.
Each run throws you into branching floors stuffed with fights, events, and cursed choices — the kind that end with you muttering, “just one more room.” There are over 300 cards to collect, a pile of status effects to chain, and a very real chance you’ll die spectacularly learning how it all works. The Berserker class drives that home fast, leaning on self-inflicted damage and Bleed synergies in a meta that rewards guts as much as brains. Oh, and yes — you literally play cards on dungeon doors to decide what comes next.

The Crypt isn’t out to coddle anyone. With more than 100 enemies and an Endless mode designed for true masochists, it’s shaping up to be your next favorite source of pain. Into the Crypt is targeting a November 2026 release on Steam — wishlist it now if you’re into clever design, dark humor, and deckbuilders that bite back.
