Nintendo's MAR10 Day 2026: Galaxy Movie Trailer, Switch 2 Surprises, and More Mario Magic

Nintendo is going big for MAR10 Day 2026, and this year’s celebration is all about taking Mario to the stars, your phone, and pretty much every screen you own.

A new look at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Nintendo and Illumination have dropped a fresh trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which warps into theatres nationwide on April 1, with tickets available now. The new look leans into the space-fantasy energy of the Galaxy games, setting up April as a very busy month for Mario fans.

Nintendo Today! turns MAR10 into a daily check-in

Starting today, the free Nintendo Today! app on smart devices is getting its own galaxy-sized tie-in. By logging in and tapping the card each day, fans can nab one digital Collectible Card based on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with 40 different cards available between now and June 10.

There’s also a little extra incentive for regulars: unlock three cards during the promo window (March 10–May 31, 11:59 p.m. PT) and you’ll earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points. Beginning April 1, you can use the app to scan the movie poster at participating theatres to check in and unlock exclusive bonuses, including an on-site-only digital photo frame that stamps the date and location you saw the film, plus wallpapers and more.

New Nintendo Switch 2 trailers for Mario and Yoshi

Mario isn’t just on the big screen—he’s headlining new looks at upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 titles.

• Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park just received a new overview trailer, highlighting what’s coming when the enhanced version launches on March 26. Players who already own Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the original Switch will be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition via an upgrade pack, adding new multiplayer attractions, modes, and returning favorites like Rosalina and Luma.
• Yoshi and the Mysterious Book also got a new sneak peek, with Nintendo confirming it launches May 21 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. This adventure drops Yoshi into the pages of a mysterious book filled with unusual creatures to catalog, name, and discover as new chapters open up over time.

Between a refreshed Wonder and a brand-new Yoshi title, Switch 2 owners are getting a very cozy Mario-adjacent lineup this spring.

LEGO Mario Kart hits adult collector mode

If your idea of MAR10 Day merch is “complicated build, lots of pieces,” LEGO has something lined up. The LEGO Group has revealed LEGO Mario Kart – Luigi & Mach 8 (72050), a new set in its adult-focused Mario Kart line featuring 2,234 pieces and a buildable Luigi with posable head, arms, and hands, seated in a large-scale brick recreation of the Mach 8 kart.

The kart can be displayed at dynamic angles on its stand or lifted off for a bit of desk racing, and it pairs neatly with the previously released LEGO Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart (72037) if you want a full head‑to‑head shelf setup. LEGO Mario Kart – Luigi & Mach 8 is available for pre-order starting today on LEGO.com.

Deals, classics, and music for Mario’s 40th

This year also marks 40 years of the original Super Mario Bros., and Nintendo is using MAR10 Day to stack on some throwback options and discounts.

• Until March 12, participating retailers are offering deals on select games featuring Mario and friends, with additional digital discounts running on My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop until March 15 at 11:59 p.m. PT. The full breakdown is live on Nintendo’s Sales and Deals page.
• Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members can dive into a fresh batch of classics today: Mario vs. Donkey Kong on Game Boy Advance, plus Mario Clash and Mario’s Tennis from the Virtual Boy era.
• Nintendo Music has been updated with the soundtrack for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, giving fans an easy way to loop those tracks while they grind Platinum Points or plan their next run.

It’s a nice mix of modern and retro that quietly doubles as a little history lesson for the series’ 40th anniversary.

Events, Maximus Cup, and more MAR10 extras

Online, MAR10 Day rolls straight into limited-time events and in-game bonuses. Tetris 99 is hosting its 52nd MAXIMUS CUP from Friday, April 3 at 12:00 a.m. PT through Monday, April 6 at 11:59 p.m. PT, featuring a theme inspired by Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2; earning at least 100 event points during the window unlocks a new in-game theme.

Beyond that, Mario.Nintendo.com is acting as the central hub for the day, with listings for MAR10 events, Mario Kart World in-game festivities, a playful Super Star Snapshot digital photo frame featuring Mario and friends, and more ways to celebrate all things Mario.
