Rainbow Six Siege Operation Split Fire Reveals New Defender Noor and 3v3 Arcade
Ubisoft has revealed Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 3, officially titled Operation Split Fire, during the Esports World Cup in Paris, France.
The new season continues Year 11’s focus on reaffirming Siege’s competitive identity, with an update built around skill, mastery, balance, and fair competition. Player feedback remains a major part of the season, with Ubisoft introducing a new Defender, Operator balancing, a targeted map update, new limited-time events, and a brand-new ranked playlist for players chasing the highest level of competition.
At the center of Operation Split Fire is Noor, a new Defender from Egypt who brings fresh counterplay to shield Operators and gives defenders new ways to pressure attackers through walls, floors, ceilings, and shields.
Noor Joins the Defender Roster
Noor is the newest Defender coming to Rainbow Six Siege, and his arrival immediately changes how shield Operators will need to approach each round.
His signature gadget, the Horus Lance Launcher, is designed to create pressure through walls, floors, ceilings, and shields. This gives Noor strong utility for area denial, plant denial, and creative defensive plays.
Shield Operators have always had the ability to force defenders into uncomfortable positions, but Noor gives defending teams a stronger answer. Instead of simply backing away or trying to hold an angle, defenders can now challenge shield pressure in more tactical ways.
Noor’s Loadout
Noor will have access to a flexible loadout that supports both defensive anchoring and aggressive positioning.
His primary weapon options include:
- Commando-9
- Alda 5.56
His secondary weapon options include:
- TACOPS 1911
- Bailiff 410
For gadgets, Noor can bring:
- Barbed wire
- Deployable shield
This setup allows Noor to fortify key areas, hold important positions, and create strong defensive setups before attackers begin applying pressure.
Kali Receives Major Weapon Improvements
Kali is also receiving several changes designed to make her feel more agile, responsive, and flexible during matches.
Her CSRX 300 sniper rifle is getting two new magnification options:
- 3.5x
- 8x
This gives Kali more control over how she takes engagements. The 3.5x option should help her stay useful in closer-range situations without being punished by excessive zoom, while the 8x option preserves her long-range identity.
Kali’s weapon pump time has also been reduced, and her magazine capacity has been increased. These changes should make her less punishing to use and more capable of holding pressure during fights.
Another key adjustment is that activating her LV Explosive Lance will no longer interrupt her aim down sights or leaning distance. This means Kali can hold angles more proactively while still using her gadget.
Dokkaebi Gets More Counterplay
Dokkaebi is also receiving important changes to her Jegeo Payload and overall loadout.
Her Jegeo Payload will now require a continuous connection to complete the upload process. That connection can be interrupted, creating more opportunities for Operators like IQ, Mute, and Solis to counter her.
This change encourages more coordinated play from attacking teams and gives defenders more ways to respond instead of simply being forced to deal with the effect.
Dokkaebi’s impact EMP grenades are also being replaced with breach charges, helping Ubisoft better define her role moving forward.
Lion, Echo, Kapkan, and Claymores Also Adjusted
Operation Split Fire will also include minor balance changes for several other Operators and equipment.
The update includes:
- Lion: Scan warning time reduced
- Echo: Sonic Burst recharge time reduced
- Kapkan: Trap damage increased from 60 to 62 HP
- Claymore: Damage increased from 150 to 155 HP
While these are smaller changes compared to Kali and Dokkaebi, they should still have an impact on how certain Operators are used during the season.
Villa Gets a Targeted Map Update
Season 3 also introduces the first targeted map update, with Villa taking center stage.
The underused Living Room/Library site has been moved to the basement, supported by permanent map layout changes. The goal is to create more viable objective options and encourage more variety in defensive site selection.
This is an important update because map balance plays a major role in Siege’s competitive health. By improving underutilized sites, Ubisoft is giving teams more strategic options instead of letting the same preferred sites dominate match flow.
Modernized Maps Initiative Continues
Operation Split Fire also continues the Modernized Maps Initiative, bringing visual upgrades to more maps.
The maps receiving improved looks include:
- Stadium Alpha
- Stadium Bravo
- House
The Shooting Range and Tutorials will also receive visual updates, helping improve the overall presentation for both new and returning players.

3v3 Arcade Mode Adds a Faster Way to Play Siege
Following the introduction of 1v1, Ubisoft is expanding Siege’s Arcade offering with a new 3v3 mode.
This new limited-time mode is built around smaller teams and faster-paced matches while still preserving the tactical identity that defines Rainbow Six Siege.
The 3v3 format should offer a more accessible and flexible way to play. It gives players a chance to enjoy Siege without committing to the full structure of a standard match, while still rewarding communication, map control, and smart utility use.
Wasteland Circuit Turns Drones Into a Racing Event
After the launch of 3v3 Arcade, Ubisoft will premiere a new limited-time event called Wasteland Circuit.
This event transforms one of Siege’s most iconic gadgets into the star of the show: drones.
Instead of using drones purely for scouting, players will race them through custom-built tracks filled with obstacles, shortcuts, and high-speed challenges. It is a completely different type of Siege experience and one of the more playful event ideas the game has introduced.
Doktor’s Curse Returns for Halloween
To close out the season’s event lineup, Doktor’s Curse will return for the Halloween season.
This year’s version will feature an expanded roster of playable Operators, with Mute, Grim, and Hibana joining the lineup.
Doktor’s Curse has become one of Siege’s most recognizable seasonal events, and its return gives players another reason to jump back in during the Halloween period.
Operation Split Fire Keeps Siege Focused on Competition
Operation Split Fire is a strong example of what Ubisoft is trying to do with Rainbow Six Siege in Year 11.
The season is not just adding content for the sake of content. It is focusing on competitive clarity, stronger counterplay, map diversity, Operator balancing, and new ways to enjoy Siege’s tactical systems.
Noor gives defenders a fresh answer to shield pressure. Kali and Dokkaebi’s updates make both Operators more deliberate and better defined. Villa’s changes aim to improve site diversity. The new 3v3 Arcade mode offers a faster format. Wasteland Circuit adds something unexpected and fun. And Doktor’s Curse brings back a fan-favourite Halloween experience.

Final Thoughts
Rainbow Six Siege Year 11 Season 3 looks like another major step in Ubisoft’s long-term plan to keep the game competitive, modern, and exciting.
With Operation Split Fire, Ubisoft is giving players a season built around skill expression and tactical decision-making while still finding room for fun limited-time events.
Noor’s arrival could have a serious impact on shield play, while the balance updates and Villa changes should give ranked and competitive players plenty to study.
For a game that continues to evolve year after year, Operation Split Fire shows that Rainbow Six Siege still has plenty of new tactical ideas left in the chamber.
