The Final bell: Dead or Alive 6 Last Round
First up is Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, a definitive, optimized version of the sixth installment coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 25, 2026.
This isn't just a simple port. Team Ninja has polished the game for modern hardware and packed it with content:
- The Roster: You get 29 playable characters right out of the gate. This includes the original 24 plus five fan favourites previously locked behind DLC: Nyotengu, Phase 4, Tamaki, Momiji, and Rachel.
- The Look: Expect upgraded visuals and a brand-new Photo Mode. You can freely position characters, change their facial expressions, and even adjust details like sweat and dirt to capture the perfect action shot.
- Free-to-Play is Back: Just like previous entries, a Core Fighters version will launch simultaneously. It features four iconic characters—Kasumi, NiCO, Marie Rose, and Honoka—and allows full access to online play, DOA Quest, and the new Photo Mode.

What About the Switch 2?
While the official announcement only listed PS5, Xbox, and Steam, the question of a Nintendo Switch 2 version is currently the biggest mystery. Team Ninja has a history of supporting Nintendo hardware (remember DOA: Dimensions?), and with the Switch 2's recent launch in early 2026, fans are crossing their fingers for a "Round 2" announcement later this year.

The Real Shocker: A New DOA is in Development
As if a remaster wasn't enough, Hayashi saved the best for last: Team Ninja has officially begun work on the next mainline Dead or Alive title.
While details are incredibly scarce, the message was clear: Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is the bridge to the future. Whether it will be called Dead or Alive 7 or a total series reboot remains to be seen, but the developers confirmed that this 30th-anniversary project is the start of a "new chapter" for the franchise.
