Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Set in Feudal Japan

Ubisoft has unveiled the next installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise, Assassin's Creed Shadows, set to release worldwide on November 15th. The game will be available on multiple platforms, including Ubisoft+, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and Macs with Apple silicon via the Mac App Store, as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store. Players who subscribe to Ubisoft+ or purchase the Ultimate Edition can access the game three days early on November 12th.

Developed by Ubisoft Québec (known for Assassin's Creed Odyssey), Assassin's Creed Shadows will transport players to 16th-century Japan. The country is in a state of unrest as it moves towards unification, with new alliances forming and foreign influences threatening the land.

Players will embark on the intertwined journeys of Naoe, a skilled shinobi Assassin from the Iga Province, and Yasuke, the legendary samurai. Their stories will intersect with key historical figures as they shape Japan's future. Each character offers a distinct playstyle, progression paths, skills, weapons, and stats. Whether players prefer Naoe's stealth tactics or Yasuke's combat prowess, they'll find ample ways to tackle challenges.

Exploration is crucial, with a vast open-world featuring diverse landscapes that change with weather and seasons. From castle towns to bustling ports, players will experience feudal Japan's dynamism with the Anvil engine and the power of new-gen consoles.

Information gathering plays a crucial role, with players building a spy network to uncover new areas and track down targets. Specialized allies can be recruited, and players can customize their hideouts to train and enhance their crew.

Pre-orders for Assassin's Creed Shadows include an additional quest. The Gold Edition offers the base game, Season Pass, and early access. The Ultimate Edition adds the Ultimate Pack with character outfits and more. The Collector's Edition includes physical items like a Steelbook, figurines, an artbook, and more, in addition to the game and Season Pass.
