Ubisoft Toronto and Montreal Team Up for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
Ubisoft Toronto is thrilled to announce its collaboration with Ubisoft Montreal on the highly anticipated remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This exciting partnership aims to breathe new life into the beloved 2003 classic, leveraging the combined expertise and creativity of both studios.
Reviving a Classic
“The game holds a special place for many of us at our studio. I still remember how much fun I had playing the original with its breakthrough feature that lets you rewind time,” said Darryl Long, Managing Director at Ubisoft Toronto. “We now have the chance to rewind time ourselves, and bring our updated tech, expertise, and creativity to modernize this classic game with our partners at Ubisoft Montreal.”
The team at Ubisoft Montreal continues to make excellent progress on the remake, striving to recapture the magic of time-bending acrobatics, epic sword fights, and captivating storytelling that made the original game a fan favourite.

A Legacy of Excellence
Since opening in 2010, Ubisoft Toronto has worked on some of Ubisoft’s biggest brands, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. Recent projects include Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, XDefiant, and the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws, set to release on August 31. The studio is also a longtime collaborator on the Far Cry franchise and continues to lead development on the Splinter Cell remake.
