Ubisoft Toronto is rolling out the red carpet for gamers, tech enthusiasts, and the curious. It celebrates 15 years in the city with a behind-the-scenes experience at Doors Open Toronto. On May 24 and 25, the studio at 224 Wallace Avenue invites the public inside its historic 1922 brick-and-beam building, complete with its iconic water tower, for a rare peek at how some of gaming’s biggest titles come to life.

From 10 AM to 4 PM both days, visitors can actively participate in the studio’s state-of-the-art Performance Capture Studio, a sprawling 12,000 square foot space with 30-foot ceilings, stunt beams, and all the tech wizardry needed to bring blockbuster games like Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, and Assassin’s Creed to life. Expect live demos, interactive exhibits, and a chance to see how motion capture stunts go from real-life action to on-screen spectacle. Photography is encouraged, so bring your camera for some truly unique shots.

“We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 15th anniversary at Doors Open Toronto and are proud to have been part of the Ontario video game industry’s growth and success,” says Darryl Long, Managing Director at Ubisoft Toronto. “We’re looking forward to sharing our creative space with the community and can’t wait for them to experience the magic behind our games, brought to life by our talented teams.”

Ubisoft Toronto’s open house is just one stop in this year’s Doors Open Toronto, which features over 150 sites across the city and celebrates the theme of “Play.” The event transforms Toronto into a playground of inspiration and discovery for all ages, from historic landmarks to creative studios. New additions this year include Ubisoft Toronto, Spin Master HQ, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, alongside returning favorites like Old City Hall and the Don Jail.

For those eager to dig deeper into the industry, Ubisoft Toronto’s Narrative Director, Navid Khavari, will join the “Ready Player One: A Dive into Toronto’s Video Game Industry” panel at the MaRS Discovery District. The talk will explore how games shape culture and community in Toronto, with other local creators and artists joining the conversation. The event is free, but registration is required due to limited spots.

Since opening in 2010, Ubisoft Toronto has grown into one of Ontario’s leading AAA studios, with teams of writers, artists, programmers, and more contributing to some of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises. The studio is also deeply invested in the local industry, running mentorship programs like Ubisoft Toronto NEXT and supporting initiatives such as Hack the ROM and Indie Super Boost to help the next generation of game developers get their start.

Whether you’re a die-hard gamer, a budding developer, or just looking for a fun, inspiring outing, Ubisoft Toronto’s 15th anniversary celebration is a can’t-miss stop on this year’s Doors Open Toronto map. Come for the games, stay for the creativity, and leave inspired by the city’s thriving spirit of play.
