Veto Revealed: VALORANT’s New Sentinel Defies Powers With Pure Gunplay

Riot Games closed out VALORANT Champions Paris with a massive reveal — introducing Veto, the latest Sentinel joining the agent roster. Hailing from Senegal, Veto stands apart from his peers with one terrifying edge: a DNA mutation that lets him completely shut down the battlefield. His presence flips the script of tactical combat, forcing players to rely on pure gunplay without the safety of their gadgets. You can catch his reveal trailer here.

Veto’s Abilities

  • Chokehold: Veto hurls a mutated fragment that forms a trap on impact, locking enemies in place while inflicting Deaf and Decay effects. The trap can be destroyed before activation, but if it triggers, you’re as good as caught.
  • Crosscut: Deploys a ground-based vortex that lets Veto teleport back on command as long as he’s within range and facing it. During the Buy Phase, the vortex can be reclaimed and repositioned, making for flexible rotations.
  • Interceptor: A defensive device that neutralizes enemy utility by destroying projectiles or abilities that would be affected by gunfire. However, like other gadgets, it can be shot down before activation.
  • Evolution (Ultimate): When activated, Veto fully mutates, gaining a combat stim, rapid regeneration, and complete immunity to debuffs... a terrifying state for anyone unfortunate enough to face him head-on.

What’s Next for VALORANT

Veto officially launches on October 7, 2025, signaling a strong finish to a busy year for VALORANT’s live service updates. Alongside his debut, Riot also rolled out Skirmish, a fast-paced custom mode built for 1v1 to 5v5 fights in a compact new map. Unlike traditional rounds, Skirmish jumps players straight into the action — a perfect testing ground for Veto’s raw mechanical skill emphasis.
