VGLX: A Fan-First Gaming Weekend Arrives in Mississauga This October

Something fresh is stirring in the GTA’s gaming scene, and it is set to level up community vibes this fall. VGLX, short for Video Game Live Expo, is gearing up to launch a brand new two-day event in Mississauga on October 25 and 26. If the sound of hands-on sessions, big-stage tournaments, and all manner of colourful cosplay catches your interest, you’ll want this on your calendar.
Built By Fans, For Fans
Toronto’s gamers are nothing if not passionate. For years, local creators, cosplayers, developers, and game lovers have poured their energy into a thriving, diverse scene. VGLX aims to capture that spirit.
Jason Lepine, the founder of XP Gaming Inc. and Co-Director at VGLX Shows Inc., puts it like this: “We built VGLX to give Toronto’s gaming community something fans have been asking for—a true, playable fan-first weekend. It’s about energy, connection, and showing what this scene can be when everyone comes together.”
What’s On at VGLX?
There’s more here than just wandering through developer booths. Every square inch of the Mississauga Convention Centre will buzz with gaming life. A peek at the lineup:

- Game Demos: From big releases to hidden indie gems, you get to play, test, and discover all weekend long.
- Esports Tournaments: Watch or compete in Street Fighter 6 and TEKKEN 8, thanks to Incendium Gaming’s organizing prowess.
- Indie Zone: Curated by the Canadian Game Awards, this is the place to spot tomorrow’s standouts and talk shop with the creators.
- Cosplay & Artist Alley: Meet local talent, find unique merch, and get inspired by fan-driven creativity.
- Engagement Zones: Whether your vibe is high-energy arcade games, low-key trading card tables, or a comfy introvert lounge, you’ll find your people.
Jason Lim, Co-Director at CSC (Canada Super Collectibles), captures the event’s inclusive intention: “Every zone at VGLX is designed to reflect the real variety in today’s gaming culture. From the dance arcade to the trading card game tables, we want people to feel like this event sees them.”
It’s All About Community
Beyond the games and glitz, VGLX puts local pride and creativity in the spotlight. Collaborators include heavy-hitters like the Canadian Game Awards, Incendium Gaming, Interactive Ontario, XP Gaming Inc., and CSC. The goal? Build a weekend where everyone feels at home, whether you’re a speedrunning pro, a first-time con-goer, or just someone itching to sample new games.
