[Digital Extremes](https://www.digitalextremes.com/?ref=agamingnetwork.com) has launched [*Epoch Operation: Taubound*](https://www.warframe.com/en/news/epoch-operation-taubound?ref=agamingnetwork.com), a one-time community event that brings the entire *Warframe* player base together to prepare for the journey to the Tau Star System. Running from October 15 through November 17, the event combines a global resource-gathering goal, new rewards, and a permanent narrative Prologue Quest.

Rather than only offering a limited-time mission chain, Taubound asks new and veteran Tenno alike to take part in a shared objective that helps set the stage for *Warframe: Tau*, arriving later this year.

Any player who has completed the [*Vor’s Prize*](https://wiki.warframe.com/w/Vor%27s%5FPrize?ref=agamingnetwork.com) tutorial quest can take part. The main activity is collecting Moonflesh, a new resource found by completing missions on Eris or through timed Tactical Alerts, then depositing it with Praghasa, the Sentient Mothership.

Players can earn the Contegorus Armor Set, Vacis Amp weapon skin, Khadati Sumdali ship attachment, and Dhampyre Syandana, alongside rewards such as a Legendary Core, Honoria, blueprints, glyphs, emblems, and Kuva.

Players who have finished both [*The Old Peace*](https://wiki.warframe.com/w/The%5FOld%5FPeace?ref=agamingnetwork.com) and [*The Hex*](https://wiki.warframe.com/w/The%5FHex%5F%28Quest%29?ref=agamingnetwork.com) can also begin *Prologue to Tau*, a new single-player quest that remains in the Quest Codex permanently. For the first time in *Warframe*’s long history, players control The Lotus directly as she relives her memories.

The quest sees players awaken the Vessel and send it to Eris, where it tears through massive Infested hordes while gathering fuel for Praghasa. It is a short but narratively significant bridge between the current story and the upcoming Tau expansion.

Alongside Taubound, Digital Extremes has launched [*The Icebind*](https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1527043-dev-workshop-the-icebind/?ref=agamingnetwork.com), an experimental six-player mission mode designed around strict cooperation. Squads must consist of six players, with no duplicate Warframes allowed, and each member contributes a Cryobell key to begin.

Before the mission starts, the squad votes on randomized modifiers that can change the enemy faction, level layout, objectives, and debuffs. Teams then move through four phases to earn a choice of rewards from Melica’s Glacial Laboratory.

Digital Extremes has been clear that Taubound will not return. That makes the November 17 deadline meaningful for anyone who wants the event rewards or wants to be part of the community-wide push toward Tau.

Community director Megan Everett framed the event as a call to both new and returning players, describing the community as *Warframe*’s “nexus” and its players as its champions. The event offers accessible rewards for newer players, a meaningful story beat for long-time Tenno, and a fresh high-difficulty mode for squads ready to test their coordination.
