Xbox PC App Gets Major Upgrade: Stream Your Games, Earn Rewards, and Dive Into New Cloud Features

Microsoft is bringing even more innovation to your desktop with a major July 2025 update to the Xbox PC app, introducing a wave of features that make your gaming experience more personalized, more flexible, and more rewarding than ever. From streaming your games to cross-device history, touch support, and Microsoft Rewards integration, this update reflects Xbox’s commitment to giving players more control over when, where, and how they play.
Whether you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber or a casual PC gamer, there’s something new to explore. Let’s dive into everything you need to know about this feature-packed update.

Stream Over 250 Games You Own Directly From the Xbox PC App
One of the biggest announcements is that Game Pass Ultimate members can now stream over 250 games they already own — not just those in the Game Pass library — directly from the Xbox PC app. This feature, part of the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) program, gives players the freedom to play titles they’ve purchased without the need to install them on their hard drive.
Now available in 28 supported countries, this “stream your own game” feature includes popular console-exclusive titles like:
- Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
- Mafia: Definitive Edition
- The Callisto Protocol
- PGA Tour 2K25
To access it, head to the Cloud Gaming section in the Xbox PC app, look for the “Stream your own game” list, select a supported title, and start playing instantly — no downloads required.
Cross-Device Play History and Cloud Console Game Integration
Xbox is also making it easier than ever to pick up where you left off, regardless of the, device you’re using. With cross-device play history, your recently played titles across console and PC will now show up in your Xbox PC app library.
Insiders with Game Pass Ultimate will also see cloud-playable console-only games integrated into their Xbox PC app, including titles from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Series X|S eras. If you own the game or it’s on Game Pass, you can stream it seamlessly from your PC.
Find everything in one place under “My Library,” no more toggling between devices or platforms.

Earn Microsoft Rewards Just by Playing on PC
The Xbox PC app now features integrated Microsoft Rewards tracking, making it easier to see your point progress while you play. You’ll be able to:
- Earn points for simply playing games on your PC.
- View rewards, purchase a game once and play it across Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, and supported handheld devices, set goals and track weekly bonuses.
- Claim points directly from the app.
This feature is currently rolling out in select regions for players 18+ with a Microsoft account. Don’t forget: points must be claimed to be added to your balance, and terms apply.
