Build, Decorate, and Run Your Dream Fantasy Inn in Innkeeping
There is something remarkably pleasing about the idea of running a cozy little fantasy inn: serving a warm meal, brewing fresh ale, decorating every room exactly how you want it, and slowly turning a quiet roadside stop into the place everyone in town wants to visit. That is exactly the vibe Grey Mount Studio is bringing with Innkeeping, a new fantasy inn-management sim heading to Steam this December.
At its core, Innkeeping is all about building your own business from the ground up. Players will be able to design and decorate their inn, place furniture, manage supplies, cook meals, brew ale, set prices, and (most importantly) keep guests happy. Of course, anyone who has played a management sim knows that keeping everyone satisfied is never quite as simple as it sounds.

You will need to balance your guests' needs and expectations with the real cost of keeping your inn running. That means thinking about pricing, stock, expansion, and how much you are willing to spend to make your space feel a little more welcoming. The goal is to grow your reputation, attract more patrons, and convert your inn into a legendary local landmark.
Innkeeping seems interested in the community side of managing a fantasy business, not just the numbers. Beyond serving travelers, players will develop relationships with locals and social groups as their inn becomes an important part of the surrounding world. It is a nice touch that could help the game feel more personal than simply watching profit margins go up.
The decorating side is undoubtedly a major draw for this game. I am always a sucker for a game that lets me design a pretty space, and the ability to build an inn room by room, fill it with furniture, and create the exact atmosphere I want sounds right up my alley. Do you create a rustic little tavern packed with mismatched chairs and fireplace warmth? A polished, expensive stop for wealthy adventurers? Or a fantasy pub with questionable food and even more questionable clientele? While I would go with the latter, the choice is yours.
Grey Mount Studio, an Ontario-based indie developer, is positioning Innkeeping as a homey but strategic experience. It looks like the kind of game that could be easy to settle into for “just one more day” before suddenly realizing you have spent an entire evening adjusting drink prices and reorganizing tables.

Innkeeping is planned for a December 2026 launch on PC via Steam, where it is currently listed as a single-player cozy fantasy management sim. If you like games that mix creativity, business management, food and drink systems, and a healthy dose of fantasy charm, this is definitely one to keep on your radar
