Coming Soon: Burnstation Is a Cyberpunk Deckbuilder With a Chaotic Twist
Montréal indie game studio Klafti is coming at you with a new deckbuilding game. Burnstation is shaping up to be one of those “wait, this actually works?” kind of games—in the best way. The physics-based roguelike deckbuilder drops players inside a cyberpunk arcade machine, and yes, it’s as chaotic as it sounds.

Launching on Steam August 12, 2026, Burnstation blends deckbuilding with plinko-style gameplay. You play as a Runner, dropping and aiming a set of four marbles to hit data nodes, trigger retro cartridges, and chain together increasingly ridiculous combos. Here is your goal: push your score as high as possible. The problem? If you push too hard, your entire deck can literally burn out.
That risk-reward loop is the hook. Burnstation leans fully into its “deck-burner” identity, enticing players to overheat the machine for massive score boosts while constantly flirting with disaster. It’s a balancing act between building something powerful and watching it all collapse.
Features:
- Ball physics roguelike deckbuilding
- High-tension scoring system, don’t let the machine burn your strategy
- Collect vintage cartridges and discover powerful combos
- Online leaderboards & endless mode
- Cyberpunk arcade-inspired
The game is set in Neo Shiba, where you’ll spend time at Jimmy’s RR Pawnshop—a hub packed with over 120 retro cartridges, processors, and specialized marbles. There’s a surprising amount of build variety here, with plenty of room to experiment and find broken (or brilliantly risky) combinations.
If you’re curious how it all comes together, there’s already a free demo live on Steam. It’s a solid way to get a feel for the game’s unique mixture of strategy and physics before launch.
Burnstation arrives on Steam August 12, 2026, and if you’re into deckbuilders that aren’t afraid to get a little weird, this is definitely one to keep on your radar.
