Night Whisper Lane: Anniversary Edition Brings a Cult iOS Horror Game to PC

EPX Games has announced Night Whisper Lane: Anniversary Edition, a PC remaster of the studio’s first commercial horror game, originally released on iOS in 2012. Fourteen years later, the point-and-click survival horror title is finally making its Steam debut with modernized visuals, rebuilt combat, and a fresh focus on resource management.

In the game, you wake outside an ominous home with no memory of how you arrived… only to find the way out blocked and a deadly person named Sofia waiting inside. What happens next is a fight to uncover the house’s secrets without becoming another victim.

Night Whisper Lane blends first-person exploration with point-and-click puzzle solving. You can search rooms, find hidden passages, collect supplies, and traverse a booby-trapped house. Survival aspects also extend into the game's combat. The supplies you find while exploring become the weapons, ammunition, and healing items you rely on in encounters, making every decision about what to carry and use feel meaningful.

This is more than a resolution bump. EPX Games says the edition includes modernized environments and characters, rebuilt combat, a new minimap, redesigned floor maps, and updated weapon and inventory screens.

For a game that began as a mobile point-and-click horror release in 2012, those changes could help it feel far more at home on PC. The original was EPX Games’ first commercial title and received support through 2014, including a Boss Rush mode and additional platform ports.

Night Whisper Lane is not trying to compete with the biggest survival horror franchises. Its appeal is in its strange mashup of exploration, deadly environmental traps, inventory management, and turn-based boss fights... a combination that feels deliberately old-school while getting a modern coat of paint.

No release date is set yet, but it’s confirmed for Steam. Horror fans who enjoy resource scarcity, puzzle-heavy exploration, and boss battles with real consequences should keep an eye on this one.
