First Look Inside Nintendo’s New EB Games Space in Toronto Ahead of October 17 Opening

EB Games Canada has revealed the first look inside its new Nintendo space at EB Games, one day before the permanent retail experience opens to the public in downtown Toronto.

Located inside the company’s flagship store at 267 Yonge Street, the 1,500-square-foot space is Nintendo’s first-ever store-within-a-store in North America. Doors officially open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The new space brings Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, games, merchandise, playable demos, themed displays, and exclusive products together in a dedicated Nintendo environment.

Nintendo has also confirmed special opening-day purchase offers for visitors to the Yonge & Dundas location.

A First Look Inside the Nintendo Space

Rather than a traditional retail section, the new area is designed as a more immersive Nintendo destination within EB Games.

Visitors will find:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and software
  • Playable demo systems
  • Nintendo-themed displays
  • Nintendo merchandise
  • My Mario products
  • Exclusive merchandise available specifically at the Toronto space

The experience is intended to evolve alongside Nintendo’s latest releases, giving customers a reason to return as new games, hardware, and merchandise arrive.

EB Games Canada Owner and CEO Stéphan Tétrault said the company wants its stores to become places where customers can do more than simply make a purchase.

“We believe in creating retail experiences where people can do more than shop, they can play, discover and connect with the brands they love.”

Exclusive My Mario Merchandise

One of the notable products available at the new space is the My Mario Mario & Friends Wood Block set.

According to EB Games Canada, the set will be exclusive to the Nintendo space at EB Games in Canada.

That gives collectors another reason to visit the Toronto flagship, particularly as Nintendo continues expanding its merchandise offerings beyond games and consoles.

Nintendo Calls the Toronto Location a North American First

Devon Pritchard, President and Chief Operating Officer at Nintendo of America, said the space shows what Nintendo can create through closer partnerships with retailers.

“It gives people a new way to experience our games, characters and worlds, and we’re excited to see it come to life for the very first time in North America alongside our partners at EB Games.”

Nintendo of Canada Vice President and General Manager Susan Pennefather also highlighted the importance of bringing the concept to Toronto, saying the space captures the sense of fun and discovery associated with Nintendo.

Opening-Day Nintendo eShop Gift Card Offers

EB Games and Nintendo are also offering special promotions for customers who visit on opening day.

On October 17, customers can receive:

  • One $50 Nintendo eShop gift card when spending $200 or more on Nintendo products
  • Two $50 Nintendo eShop gift cards when purchasing a Nintendo Switch 2 system

The offers are available only at the EB Games Yonge & Dundas location, are not available online, and will be offered while supplies last. Nintendo notes that qualifying offers are first come, first served and cannot be stacked.

A New Nintendo Destination for Toronto

The opening gives Toronto something Nintendo fans in the city have not had before: a permanent dedicated Nintendo retail environment.

The Yonge Street location was already one of EB Games Canada’s flagship stores, and Nintendo’s official store information confirms the downtown Toronto location at 267 Yonge Street. EB Games

With Switch 2 demos, exclusive merchandise, rotating products, and a space designed around Nintendo’s characters and games, the store-within-a-store could become a regular destination rather than a one-time launch attraction.

Final Thoughts

Nintendo’s first North American store-within-a-store officially opens in Toronto tomorrow, and the first look suggests EB Games is aiming for something more substantial than a branded section of shelves.

The 1,500-square-foot space combines shopping, playable demos, merchandise, and Nintendo-themed displays while giving the company a permanent physical destination in the heart of downtown Toronto.

With exclusive My Mario merchandise and opening-day Nintendo eShop gift card offers, October 17 should be a busy day at 267 Yonge Street.
