Rapturous Studio’s Robot Rhapsody Hits Kickstarter Goal in 44 Hours

Rapturous Studio is back with Robot Rhapsody, a cyberpunk JRPG that is already off to a strong start. The Kickstarter hit its $20,000 USD goal in just 44 hours, quickly unlocking early stretch goals. It is a solid follow-up moment for the team behind Beloved Rapture, which won Best RPG at the 2026 RPGMaker Awards.

The story in this game follows Selva, a retired mercenary navigating a fractured world shaped by AI-run “utopias.” Then, as you build a resistance of survivors, the game leans into familiar JRPG structure while tackling timely themes like artificial intelligence, environmental collapse, and creative rebellion.

Robot Rhapsody on Steam
A turn-based RPG following Selva, a retired mercenary; Aurum, a poetic "robot bard"; and allies including engineers, luddite artists, and survivors fighting back against AI-controlled "utopias". Recruit machines to your side, upgrade with salvaged tech, & explore bizarre pockets of human resistance.

Combat stays turn-based but adds a twist. You can hack enemy robots mid-fight, recruit them, and upgrade them with salvaged tech, giving battles a bit more flexibility and strategy.

Visually, it leans on hand-painted pixel art with a focus on atmosphere, paired with a returning composer delivering a hybrid rock fusion soundtrack. The current scope points to a 20 to 30 hour main story, plus side content, with Story, Classic, and Expert modes available.
