Finish Line Games Unveils Sci-Fi RPG 'Robots at Midnight' at Golden Joystick Awards

Finish Line Games debuted its latest creation, the sci-fi Action-RPG titled Robots at Midnight, at the 41st Annual Golden Joystick Awards in London and Toronto. The unveiling showcased a captivating trailer, spotlighting the game's dynamic features, including intense combat, exploration, and a meticulously crafted world teeming with mechanical inhabitants.

This independent game development studio, known for its popular titles like Skully, Maize, and Cel Damage HD, takes players on an adventure in an expansive 1980s Cassette Futurist setting. The game centers around Zoe, an unconventional and tenacious hero, navigating the dystopian world of Yob. Once a luxurious destination, Yob now lies in ruins, overrun by robots – some friendly, others difficult, and many undergoing evolution, prompting reflections on the essence of humanity.

Robots at Midnight promises a cosmic fantasy experience, combining strategic, skill-based combat with fluid movements, risk-reward choices, and RPG progression tied to character growth. The narrative, discovered through exploration, adds depth to the game's immersive world.

Daniel Posner, CEO and co-founder of Finish Line Games, expressed the team's enthusiasm, stating, "We’re big fans of games that have combat that require persistence, which is where we first drew inspiration and then built this interconnected world filled with mechanical creatures, deep lore, humor, and characters that have heart and soul."

Scheduled for release in 2024 on PC and Xbox Series X/S, with additional platforms to follow, Robots at Midnight invites players to explore its intriguing universe.
