Tears of Metal Charges Onto Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass Ahead of Early Access
Montreal-based studio Paper Cult has officially confirmed that its upcoming hack-and-slash roguelike Tears of Metal is heading to Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, the Microsoft Store, and Steam.
The announcement was made during the ID@Xbox Showcase, where a brand-new trailer also debuted, featuring fresh gameplay and a new music track from the game’s evolving soundtrack.
A Fast-Paced Roguelike With a Growing Platform Reach
Tears of Metal continues to build momentum as it expands beyond its initial PC plans. With its arrival on Xbox platforms and inclusion in Game Pass, the game is positioned to reach a much wider audience right from its Early Access launch window.
The game blends hack-and-slash combat with roguelike progression, delivering fast, skill-based encounters where each run pushes players to adapt, improve, and survive longer against escalating threats.
Early Access Launch Set for Spring 2026
While no exact date has been confirmed yet, Tears of Metal is still on track to enter Early Access in Spring 2026. Paper Cult has indicated that more updates, including deeper looks at gameplay systems and progression, are coming soon.
Early Access will give players the opportunity to experience the game as it evolves, shaping its development through feedback and community involvement.
