Transformers: Beyond Reality Redux Hits Quest September 10

Meta4 Interactive is bringing the Autobots to VR with Transformers: Beyond Reality Redux, an enhanced arcade-style on-rails shooter launching September 10, 2026, for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest 3S. If you have ever wanted to stand shoulder to shoulder with Optimus Prime and blast Decepticons in virtual reality... this is your chance!!

You play as a human recruit equipped with an experimental exo-suit, fighting alongside Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock, and the rest of the Autobots against Megatron and the Decepticons across Earth and Cybertron. You are the human in the fight, not on the sidelines.

"We grew up loving Transformers," said Eric Plante, COO of Meta4 Interactive. "As kids, we imagined being the human fighting beside the Autobots, like Spike or Daniel. VR gave us the chance to finally bring that experience to life."

This is an arcade-style, on-rails VR shooter with intuitive controls and guided movement. The design choice is deliberate. It keeps you focused on the battle instead of fumbling with complex locomotion. "We wanted players focused on the battle," said Alfredo Chaves, Chief Production Officer. "The on-rails approach keeps them immersed in the action without overwhelming them with complex movement."

For VR newcomers or players who get motion-sick easily, that is a welcome call. For veterans who want full freedom of movement, it might feel restrictive. The trade-off is pure, uninterrupted chaos.

What's New in Redux

Meta4 Interactive, working with Illogika under license from Hasbro, has overhauled the original experience based on player feedback. Here is what is changing:

  • New enemies and a new player attack to freshen up encounters.
  • Rebalanced combat with more varied encounters and a dynamic difficulty curve.
  • A redesigned progression system that rewards skillful play and encourages replayability.
  • A streamlined upgrade system with a more noticeable impact on gameplay.
  • Mastery challenges that unlock Hard and Brutal difficulty modes for players who want to push themselves.

This marks the first time Transformers: Beyond Reality is coming to Meta Quest, opening the franchise up to the platform's massive installed base. "Fans around the world have loved Transformers for generations, and we are always looking for new ways for them to experience the brand," said Matt Proulx, Senior Vice President, Global Experiences, Partnerships and Music at Hasbro. "Transformers: Beyond Reality Redux brings the action and iconic characters of the franchise to life in an immersive new way on Meta Quest."

For Quest 2, 3, and 3S owners, that means a AAA-branded VR shooter with recognizable IP, refined mechanics, and a clear progression loop, all without needing a PC or PSVR2.

So… If you are a Transformers fan who has been waiting for a VR experience that feels like being in the cartoon or movie, Beyond Reality Redux is shaping up to deliver exactly that. The on-rails design keeps things accessible, the new progression and mastery systems add replay value, and the Autobots-vs-Decepticons premise is timeless.
